Lonoke White is a Public Water Authority of the State of Arkansas
LW's purpose is to provide a high quality water at an affordable rate to its members for many years into the future in order to allow for growth in the central Arkansas area.
Lonoke White is made up of:
Beebe Water & Sewer Commission
Furlow Public Water Authority
Grand Prarie/Bayou Two PFB
North Pulaski Waterworks PFB
Vilonia Waterworks Association
Ward Water & Sewer System
The plans for LW call for an intake structure to be built on property at Greers Ferry Lake, that will ultimately be able to draw 30 MGD from the lake. The beginning capacity of the Intake wil be 10 MGD. The treatment plant- built on 103 acres- will also have 10 MGD capacity at the startup with a 24" transmission line bringing the water into the central Arkansas area. Very little pumping will be needed after the water leaves the treatment plant because of the much lower elevation of the tanks of each member entity. The entities of LW service 39,267 water meters.
LW is governed by a board made uo of one representative from each member entity. All have equal voting power regardless of size.
Mayor Art Brooke from Ward is the President of Lonoke White; Terry House, Manager of Grand Prairie Bayou Two is the Vice President; and Harold Williams, Manager of Vilonia Water is the Secretary. Woody Bryant is General Manager. The LW board meeting is normally the first Tuesday of each month at noon and is held at Ward City Hall.
LW will have a ceremonial ground breaking honoring funding and construction that will begin in early August. Celebration will be held on Friday July 13, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Chamber of Commerce building in Ward, AR
